Million ladders sold at Lowe's, Costco, and Amazon are being recalled after fall-related brain injuries, broken bones reported
xCruzo Brief
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling about 3.662 million ladders made by Little Giant Ladder Systems after reports they can unexpectedly retract, creating a fall hazard. The recall was published on Nov. 5, following multiple customer reports to the company. The agency says the issue occurs if the Rapid Locks—black or orange components on the ladder legs used to adjust height—are not fully engaged. Little Giant has received 39 reports of Rapid Locks failing, 25 reports of ladders retracting, and 19 injury reports. The CPSC notes three head-injury cases, including traumatic brain injury and concussion. Models include Adjustable Fortress 2.0 and MegaLite+.
