Mom Was Celebrating Wedding Anniversary When She Drowned Trying to Save Her 2 Sons During Snorkeling Excursion

Nearly $18,000 has been raised on GoFundMe for Nathan Gregory and his two sons after the death of Leanne Gregory in the Bahamas. Royal Bahamas Police said authorities responded Tuesday, Oct. 20, after the British woman was found unresponsive at the North Bimini Ferry Dock. Preliminary information indicated she was snorkeling with her husband and their two sons when a strong current reportedly swept the children away; she attempted to rescue them but was also swept away. Police identified the victim as Leanne Gregory, of Stapleford in Nottinghamshire. Her husband, Nathan, told the BBC the family was celebrating their 10-year anniversary early, and said the ordeal lasted about 10 minutes.
