Chancy’s Fish Camp released its June 24, 2026 fishing update for Northwest Montana, describing generally improving conditions across multiple waters. For Dickey Lake, the camp says the salmon bite remains good, recommending trolling or jigging around 50 feet with orange or green Swedish pimples and JT Tackle Taildraggers. On the Flathead River and its forks, conditions are said to be clearing and “greening,” with fly fishing picking up and suggestions including stimulators and small hopper patterns. The report also notes strong pike activity in Flathead sloughs, while Blanchard Lake bass are suggested on topwater or Senkos, and crappie are “very good” with small crappie candy minnows. Additional venues include Lake Mary Ronan for salmon at 25 to 30 feet and McGregor Lake for lake trout jigging at 80 to 120 feet. Each location lists preferred depths and lure types, including plugs, spinners, and swimbaits.
