Ooh la la: Guster back in Portland for On the Ocean weekend

Guster is set to return to Portland for the eighth edition of On the Ocean at Thomson’s Point, bringing more than just two music sets for fans. After last summer’s run, Guster’s On the Ocean producer James Macdonald said the weekend feels like a citywide takeover—something a bartender likened to a convention. Beyond performances, attendees can join harbor cruises, bike tours, and kayak trips, plus an environmental cleanup and visits to local spots like Bissell Brothers Taproom and the children’s museum. Macdonald said all kayaks and bikes are rented through Portland Paddle, with a new 5K added and about 200 already signed up.
