Paddles up! Hong Kong marks 50 Years of international dragon boat thrills

Hong Kong is set to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its International Dragon Boat Races as top teams gather for the event running June 27–28. The races will take place along the Victoria Harbour waterfront in Tsim Sha Tsui, a major tourist area known for skyline views. This year’s milestone also marks the 35th anniversary of the event’s co-organizer, the Hong Kong China Dragon Boat Association, and the sanctioning body International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF). The IDBF is also commemorating the occasion by announcing earlier in 2026 the relocation of its headquarters back to Hong Kong. The organizers expect a full program of action, fun, and entertainment for both participants and spectators during the weekend competition.
