Paris Saint-Germain agree deal in region of €50m to sign Barcelona forward Ferran Torres
Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have agreed a transfer for Ferran Torres in the region of €50m (£42.7m; $57.6m), The Athletic reported. Torres is 26 and the Spanish club say the deal includes no add-ons. Club documentation is still being exchanged and the move is expected to become official soon. The winger is coming off a successful World Cup run with Spain, where he was mainly used as a substitute by Luis de la Fuente and scored the winning goal against Argentina in the 106th minute at MetLife Stadium. Barcelona’s hesitation partly stemmed from a clause tied to a future €8m payment to Manchester City. PSG’s target aligns with Barcelona’s desire to avoid a free transfer next summer as Torres’ contract expires. Barcelona had added Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, and Lewandowski is set to join Chicago Fire in MLS.
