xCruzo Brief
Sandy Alderson’s long-awaited enshrinement is set for Saturday, when the former Oakland A’s executive will be inducted into the A’s Hall of Fame during a pregame ceremony at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento. Alderson, 78, has been battling a recurring form of cancer for 11 years and recently took part in a convoy mission in Ukraine bringing supplies into Kyiv. He was the architect of three consecutive World Series appearances (1988–1990) and will be inducted as part of a class that includes the late Dave Henderson, Mark Ellis and John “Blue Moon” Odom. Alderson, who joined baseball operations after Roy Eisenhardt’s hiring, credited Eisenhardt as a key early supporter.
