PETRONAS reaffirms support for development of Sabah's oil and gas workforce

PETRONAS said it is reaffirming its support for developing Sabah’s oil and gas workforce with the launch of two digital platforms in collaboration with the state government. The systems, funded by PETRONAS, were unveiled on Tuesday (Aug. 4): POMIGAS (Permohonan Online Pekerjaan dan Latihan Dalam Industri Minyak dan Gas) and the Sabah Work Pass Online System. PETRONAS described POMIGAS as a centralized online platform integrated with the Sabah Jobs Portal ecosystem, aimed at helping Sabahans—especially youth, graduates and job seekers—access job matching and training in the sector. The Sabah Work Pass system is designed to streamline work pass applications in Sabah. PETRONAS Sabah and Labuan general manager Datuk Siti Ayu Abdul Wahab said the company focuses on unlocking local talent. The Work Pass platform is scheduled to go live on Sept. 1, 2026.
