Philadelphia International Airport celebrates employees ahead of busy summer travel season

Philadelphia International Airport celebrated its employees ahead of the busy summer travel season. The event highlighted 17,000 badged workers, while daily volume often reaches 40,000 to 90,000 travelers. Attendees enjoyed activities such as a baseball pitch simulator and penalty-kick challenges, designed to lift morale before peak travel. Representatives from the Phillies and Philadelphia Union attended.

Leah Douglas, the airport's director of guest experience, said the celebration aimed to appreciate staff so they can better serve travelers. The airport also directs travelers to a 2026 navigation site to help manage summer disruptions. Five employees were recognized, including a 2026 All-Star.
