Powys couple preach importance of What3Words, after losing son to suicide

A couple in rural Powys is urging people to learn their What3Words address after their 21-year-old son Tom Hooper died by suicide in April 2024. The Hoopers live at Twiscob Top above Presteigne, near Cascob, an isolated smallholding where Kate said emergency services took about an hour to locate the home after she called 999. She said the delay occurred because not all information provided had been passed on, and responders later told her they reached the village in 12 minutes but then spent 48 minutes searching house to house without Tom’s name and address. The couple said Tom had a long mental health history and that they doubt the delay would have changed the outcome.
