Prep baseball Class AA all-state: Independence duo Cuthbert, Brady Williams join Hines, Smith on first team; Degan Williams second-team captain

Independence baseball stars Micah Cuthbert and Brady Williams headline West Virginia’s Class AA All-State selections, joining Frankfort’s Lanson Orndorf and Wheeling Central’s pitching duo on the first team. Orndorf, coming off the Frankfort Falcons’ WVSSAC Class AA state championship, captained the 2026 All-State team and batted .413 with a 1.119 OPS, 27 RBI and 16 extra-base hits. On the mound, he posted a 0.58 ERA with 112 strikeouts in 84 innings before committing to the University of Charleston. First-team pitching also includes Wheeling Central’s Steven Brodegard (1.67 ERA, 62 strikeouts) and James Monroe’s Kadyn Hines (1.34 ERA, 117 strikeouts; .486 batting, 36 RBI). The Class AA first team further features Zaden Ranson (catcher) and Brogan Medina, plus infielders Cuthbert, Williams and Wyoming East’s Miken Smyth.
