Queen Mary of Denmark marked the end of the sailing season with an official disembarkation of the Royal Yacht Dannebrog on 14 September, joined by King Frederik. The Danish royals typically travel by sea during summer and returned to Copenhagen for a ceremony led by harbour master Christian Kopp. The couple then hosted the yacht officers at Frederik VIII’s Palace for the strygemiddag, when the command pennant is lowered from the Dannebrog to signal the season’s close.
