Rainy Days, Great Bites: This Week's Helena Area Reservoirs Fishing Report 6.29.26
Rainy Days, Great Bites: This Week's Helena Area Reservoirs Fishing Report 6.29.26 focuses on how local weather is affecting angling across Canyon Ferry, Hauser, and Holter Reservoirs. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials Troy Humphrey and Chris Hurley provided this week’s updates for walleye, rainbow trout, perch, and other species. At Canyon Ferry, walleye bites are described as inconsistent due to rainy conditions, with targets ranging from the Silos to Ponds 3 and 4 and the river mouth in 8–12 feet. Rainbow trout are being taken by walleye anglers and by trolling near the north end. Hauser is noted for strong rainbow trout action near the Gates of the Mountains, while Holter remains productive for trout, with some walleye, perch, kokanee, and northern pike also reported.
