REEL in the FUN' Kids Fishing Tournament set for July 12
Johns County Parks and Recreation will hold its “REEL in the FUN” Kids Fishing Tournament on July 12 at the Vilano Fishing Pier. Check-in starts at 8 a.m., and competition runs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by an awards ceremony at 11:15 a.m. The event is catch-and-release only and participants must follow rules set by the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission. Adult supervision is required for all age groups, and adults may help with baiting, netting fish, removing hooks and untangling lines. Fishing is limited to one rod at a time, with a backup pole allowed, and only live or dead bait is permitted—lures and artificial bait are prohibited. Registration is required for prizes awarded by heaviest fish by weight in first, second and third place across age categories, and ties go to the longer fish.
