Report: Falcons beat Saints to the punch in trade for former Bears DT

Multiple reports say the Atlanta Falcons have traded for Gervon Dexter Sr. from the Chicago Bears, giving New Orleans’ archrival a boost on the defensive line. In return, Atlanta sent cornerback Clark Phillips III and a fifth-round draft choice to Chicago. NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported the trade market for Dexter was strong and that the Saints were among a few teams interested, alongside the New York Giants, but Atlanta reportedly came through with the best offer. Dexter, 24, was a second-round pick (No. 53) in 2023. He has 13.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss over three seasons.
