Rescue boats sent to collect migrant dinghy which has spent 30 hours at sea

Rescue boats were dispatched to collect a migrant dinghy that had been at sea for about 30 hours in the English Channel. UK’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency said the dinghy was near the Channel boundary line and that it left the Normandy coast on Monday morning, with ship tracking suggesting it started close to Vierville-sur-Mer, west of Bayeux. A French coastguard vessel is shadowing the boat, and two RNLI lifeboats are believed to be heading to meet it. The migrants will be transferred to the UK’s Border Security Command for detention, checks and processing.
