Rob Richardson wins Phantom Class National Championships at Tenby

Rob Richardson won the Phantom Class National Championships at Tenby Sailing Club, where 51 boats competed in 10 races over four days. Richardson, sailing for Ovington Boats, took first place, with Harry Briddon of Ogston Sailing Club second and Jon Riickard of Hooe Point Sailing Club third. Ben Dancer of Llandegfedd SC finished fourth; Tenby’s Jon Nuttall placed 39th after a mast break in race two, limiting him to three races. A day three sequence included several general recalls under black flag due to tidal flow through the bay. Tenby and Saundersfoot sailors had recently competed in the Osprey National Championships at Mounts Bay, where Dave Griffiths and Maurice Clarke (Osprey 1365 Carpé Diem) finished 14th. The cruiser race of 2026 is set for Sept. 11 at 6pm.
