xCruzo Brief
The U.S. Coast Guard has ended the search for 11 people believed missing after a boat carrying more than two dozen people sank off Mexico’s Baja California coast. Rescuers saved 16 survivors, the Coast Guard said, including some who reported suspected shark bites. Crews spent nearly four days searching before calling off the effort late Sunday. The boat capsized about 140 miles (225 km) west of Ensenada, in a smuggling-heavy area outside U.S. waters, according to the Coast Guard. Survivors told officials there were 27 aboard. A Mayday call was received around 1 a.m. Friday, with a helicopter arriving two hours later. Customs and Border Protection is interviewing survivors.
