Search for missing Kemaman fisherman enters fifth day with no new leads
The search for two Kemaman fishermen feared missing after their boat sank has stretched into its fifth day, with a vast search area. Kemaman Maritime Zone director Abdul Halim Hamzah said the operation covers 117.30 square nautical miles and involves 34 personnel. Assets deployed include the MMEA vessel KM Redang with 19 personnel, a PLC 3 marine police boat with eight, and a local fishing boat with seven. As of 6 pm today, no new clues about victims Azan Muda, 68, and Nordin Mohammad, 61, had been found. The missing men are boat skipper Azan Muda and deckhand Nordin Mohammad; Mahadi Jusoh, 51, was rescued on Thursday. The SAR operation was suspended for the day and would resume Tuesday morning. These operations involve 34 personnel and assets including KM Redang and PLC 3; residents and families await further updates.
