Search for two men missing from fishing boat stood down
Police in Scotland have stood down the search for two men missing from the fishing boat Kilda after new information was not yet available. The vessel disappeared on Tuesday night near Port of Ness off the north coast of the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. The body of Douglas Craigie, 49, was recovered from the sea at about 2:45am on Wednesday, while his crewmates—Norman Murray, 40, and Murdo Morrison, 23—have not been found. RNLI deployed its all-weather Lochinver lifeboat at 9:42pm and HM Coastguard previously said an aircraft, two helicopters, six rescue teams, and a local vessel were involved. Coastguard said on Thursday evening the response was paused, and Police Scotland urged the public not to take risks while providing a reference number for tips.
