Maine’s 2026 moose hunt results were announced as part of the state’s modern-era hunt, marking its 47th year. The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said 3,705 hunters will be eligible for the 2026 season, including 2,645 permits for antlered moose and 1,060 for antlerless animals. The first moose-hunt week is scheduled to begin Sept. 28. The lottery results were released Saturday at the Acton Fairgrounds, with a full list of permit winners organized by wildlife management district and the specific hunt seasons for which each person was selected. The department provided a searchable table so readers can look up winners by first and last name, city and state, WMD, permit type, and season.
