Speedboat killer Jack Shepherd admits violent attack on woman

Jack Shepherd, identified as a speedboat killer, admitted assaulting a woman, including hitting her in the chest with barbecue tongs, according to court proceedings reported Tuesday. The 38-year-old pleaded guilty via prison video link to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and damaging property. Prosecutors said the incidents occurred in February and June of last year, which triggered Shepherd’s recall to prison. He is already serving time for manslaughter: in 2018 he received a 10-year sentence after the death of 24-year-old Charlotte Brown, when a speedboat crash occurred during a first date. The update reflects additional criminal liability beyond the manslaughter case.
