Teacher accused of sexually assaulting student; court docs say she texted boy: 'I won't do well in jail ... I'm too pretty'
A Roswell, Georgia, teacher is facing criminal charges after investigators allege she sexually assaulted a student and urged him to move to Mexico. Amanda Katz, 55, was arrested June 2 and held on a $25,000 bond. She was charged with improper sexual contact by an employee or agent, carrying a potential 20-year sentence. Katz had served as a teacher and later an administrative assistant at Roswell High School before resigning amid the probe; the district says she is no longer employed. The affidavit notes the alleged incidents occurred with a 16-year-old student between December 2025 and February 2026, including off-campus encounters and suspected coercive behavior. Police found the teen’s cell phone contained roughly 19,585 text messages and 591 calls with Katz, who reportedly invited family trips to a Georgia cabin and discussed running away to Mexico.
The case continues as investigators rely on the messages and other evidence collected during the investigation.
