A 15-year-old boy was rescued Monday in the Bering Sea off Alaska after clinging for two days to a capsized boat in frigid water. The U.S. Coast Guard spotted him from an aircraft and alerted a nearby fishing vessel, The Northwest Explorer, which hoisted him to safety near the remote St. Lawrence Island. The teen was identified as Derek Parker Aghnaanga. His older brother and cousin were recovered after the incident; they did not survive. The group had left the village of Savoonga on St. Lawrence Island on Friday to fish, with plans to return early Sunday. Officials said the boy showed signs of hypothermia when found.
