Teenager, 15, died after getting into difficulty in sea during family holiday

A 15-year-old boy, Marcin Michal Komoszewski, died after getting into difficulty in the sea during a family holiday in Pembrokeshire, an inquest heard. The inquest opened Thursday, Sept. 24, into his death following an incident off Marloes Sands on Aug. 30. The teenager, visiting from Bradford, entered the water in the afternoon and was seen struggling. Family members and a member of the public attempted a rescue, but contact was lost due to difficult conditions. A large search and rescue operation involved multiple Coastguard Rescue Teams, RNLI lifeboats, a coastguard helicopter, fixed-wing aircraft, Welsh Ambulance Service staff, and a coastguard drone team. The search was suspended Aug. 31 and his body was recovered Sept. 8. A post-mortem at University Hospital Wales was ongoing, with further tests expected to take nine months.
