Wiltshire courts in Swindon and Salisbury handled a series of sentencing and guilty-plea cases across multiple towns. In Chippenham on July 27, George Welsh, 18, pleaded guilty to assaulting a male police constable in Southampton on October 31 and was ordered to pay £75 in compensation. In Amesbury on July 28, Thomas Wickham, 29, admitted criminal damage after urinating in a police van on April 17, receiving a £94 fine plus £85 costs. A separate speeding case in Marlborough saw Paul Vaughan, 65, admit driving at 48mph in a 40mph zone on the Severn Beach Rail Line Overbridge in Bristol on July 19; he received a six-month ban, a £153 fine and £120 costs.
