The heartbreaking stories behind Michigan's deadly lake tragedy
xCruzo Brief
Three people died after two boats collided on Lake St. Clair near MacRay Harbor on Oct. 7, while investigators continue to determine what caused the crash. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as Craig Miller, 52, of Macomb Township; Heidi Baldwin, 56, of St. Clair Shores; and Gerald “Lenny” Grzadzinski, 64, of Chesterfield Township. Authorities said the victims were aboard a Formula Thunderbird that was struck by a Sea Ray Sundancer near Harrison Township, and the Thunderbird later sank. Rescue crews searched overnight and recovered the three victims early the next morning. One person survived, and Gerald’s wife, Dawn Grzadzinski, reportedly swam to shore to alert authorities. No charges have been announced.
