Threatened and discriminated': Kumar Sangakkara alleges discrimination by Ryanair staff in Dublin

Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara says Ryanair staff threatened and discriminated against his family at an airport in Dublin. The Rajasthan Royals head coach posted on X on Wednesday evening, calling the encounter with gate personnel “shocking” and describing it as his first unpleasant experience in Dublin, Ireland’s capital. His post prompted replies from users online, including fellow Sri Lankan Sanjiva Weerawarana, who said he had experienced discrimination across parts of the West. Sangakkara acknowledged the distress such encounters can cause. At the time of writing, Ryanair had not responded to the allegations. Ryanair is an Irish ultra-low-cost airline headquartered in Swords, County Dublin.
