Three Prince Albert Raiders among Sask. players picked in 2026 NHL Draft
Three Prince Albert Raiders were selected in the 2026 NHL Draft, with one of them going unusually early. Rudolph became the first Raiders player ever drafted with the fourth-overall pick, and the fourth-highest selection in franchise history. The event also featured local NHL and NFL ties as Buffalo-area figures Josh Doan of the Sabres and Dion Dawkins of the Bills appeared to hype the crowd, with Thurman Thomas announcing Rudolph’s selection. Rudolph will not return to the Raiders next season, instead heading to the NCAA for a one-year college stint before aiming for the NHL. Goaltender Michal Orsulak was taken 79th overall by the Detroit Red Wings, using the third-round pick that was meant to replace Sebastian Cossa after a Day 1 trade. Forward Jonah Sivertson went 113th overall to Vegas after the Golden Knights traded picks 117 and 223 to move up.
