Tottenham open talks to sign FC Koln's Said El Mala
Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks to sign FC Köln forward Said El Mala, a 19-year-old who tallied 13 goals and four assists in the Bundesliga last season. Notable interest from Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United has emerged, while Brentford previously tried to sign him but could not agree personal terms. Tottenham has been closely monitoring his development and has now made contact with the player’s representatives. El Mala is represented by his parents, who reportedly want Köln’s Malek El Mala—Said’s elder brother and also a Köln player—to join him. Köln values the youngster at around £34 million, given a contract through 2030, and he is described as a 6ft 2in left‑sided attacker capable of playing on the opposite flank and providing midfield cover.
