Trump's peace envoys to visit Moscow and Kyiv - reports say

US reports say two of President Donald Trump’s peace envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, will travel this weekend to Russia and Ukraine as efforts to end the war gather pace. Axios, citing US officials, said Witkoff and Kushner will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Saturday, then hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Sunday. It would be their first visit to Ukraine, though they have been to Russia multiple times. Zelensky said earlier Friday that a Russian drone hit the office of Ukraine’s security chief Oleksandr Poklad in Kyiv; Poklad appeared unharmed and Zelensky said he ordered a “adequate” response. Reports differ on dates, with Russia’s Tass citing Sept. 5-6.
