Trump says NBC host Welker will be reported to FCC over endorsement description

President Donald Trump says he will report NBC anchor Kristen Welker to the FCC after she described his midterm election endorsements as producing “some mixed results” during an interview with WRC-TV on Sunday. Trump-linked candidates have faced multiple setbacks in 2025’s election cycle, including Sen. Randy Feenstra’s Iowa governor bid, which ended after primary losses. Trump said he will seek an FCC “rebuke or punishment,” arguing Welker’s description was “purposeful inaccuracy” and noting “freely given Public Airwaves.” NBC said it will “stand by” Welker. The FCC’s Brendan Carr has previously threatened license action, but the FCC cannot revoke over a viewpoint dispute.
