Two boats break free from their moorings and run aground
xCruzo Brief
Two small boats ran aground after breaking free from their moorings in Keyhaven on Saturday. Solent Coastguard paged Lymington Lifeboat at 2:37pm after receiving a report, and the crew found both vessels. According to a spokesperson, nobody was on board either boat and there was no immediate danger to life. The lifeboat did not approach closely due to the tide state and the boats’ locations, making it unsafe to secure them or deploy an anchor. With no further assistance required, the lifeboat was stood down and returned to station, arriving at 4:05pm. Afterward, the crew refueled and readied the vessel for further tasking, with volunteers available 24/7.
