Upper Salmon River Steelhead Fishing Report 11.3.26
xCruzo Brief
Steelhead fishing on Idaho’s Upper Salmon River improved last week as river clarity increased and anglers pushed effort upstream. Brent Beller of Idaho Fish and Game reported a large rise in angler numbers across the Upper Salmon from October 26 to November 1, with the best action mid-week (Tuesday to Friday). Catch rates improved notably in areas upstream of the Middle Fork Salmon River. Most fishing stayed downstream of North Fork at location code 15, while more effort showed up upstream of North Fork (code 16) and upstream of Salmon (code 17). Downstream anglers averaged 25 hours per steelhead, compared with 17 upstream of North Fork and 9 in code 17. Flow was 1,280 cfs at Salmon, ID, and temperatures stayed in the mid-40s.
