USWNT vs. Spain live updates: U.S.A. set for massive test against defending World Cup champions - CBS Sports

The U.S. women’s national team will face Spain at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., on Saturday in a major test against the world’s top-ranked side. The matchup is the fifth meeting all-time between the teams and the first since the U.S. lost 2-0 to Spain in Pamplona in 2022. It’s also the third time in 2026 that the USWNT has played a top-ranked opponent. The teams are missing key players: U.S. defender Naomi Girma withdrew with a lingering calf issue, while midfielders Sam Coffey and Emily Sonnett weren’t called in due to leg injuries. Spain will be without Aitana Bonmatí, and Claudia Pina and Mapi León also left camp Friday.
