Silverhand Estate is positioning Kent as a fast-growing wine region, showcasing its 900-acre organic vineyard through a visit in a vintage Land Rover. The day begins at the estate’s headquarters in Luddesdown, near Gravesend, where the surrounding site includes an extensive £1 million renovation of The Lion pub. Inside, the owners have created a bar and welcome area and served Silverhand’s sparkling rosé. Guests met Thaya, who explained the tour across multiple parts of the estate. Silverhand’s vines span Essex, Sussex, and Kent, and the estate claims it is the UK’s largest single organic vineyard. The drive includes stops featuring English sparkling wine, including a German Solaris grape variety described as dry and straw-yellow.
