Weymouth Harbour launches new refuelling service for fishing boats and visitors
Weymouth Harbour has launched a new refuelling service aimed at improving day-to-day operations for both fishing and leisure boats. The facility is available at Weymouth Harbour, featuring a fuel pontoon next to Weymouth Pavilion that provides easier access to red diesel for vessel operators. It supports fishing craft, commercial operators and visiting leisure vessels, with red diesel available during operational hours. Dorset Council Cabinet Member for Place Services, Councillor Jon Andrews, said the dedicated refuelling point helps local businesses and keeps harbour users running smoothly. The upgrade is backed by a £3.79 million Coastal Communities Fund grant, alongside a new fish landing quay, storage compounds, an ice-making facility and a refrigerated chilled catch area. Pump prices and opening times are displayed on site, and orders can be requested via VHF Channel 12 or the Harbour Office.
