Yankees call out Red Sox radio voice for suggesting beaning for late stolen bases

Several New York Yankees criticized Boston Red Sox radio announcer Will Flemming after comments made during the rivals’ weekend series. During Sunday’s finale, Flemming called the Yankees second baseman a “bush league player” for stealing two bases while New York led 7-1 in the eighth inning. Jazz Chisholm Jr. and teammates also took issue with Flemming for suggesting that Red Sox pitcher Jovani Moran retaliate by beaning Yankees catcher Austin Wells. Chisholm said the so-called “unwritten rules” don’t justify unprofessional behavior, and noted that rival teams have sometimes “poured on runs” without provoking threats. Flemming apologized on social media for crossing a line.
