Acosta breaks duck as KTM wins first MotoGP race in nearly four years in Austria

Pedro Acosta ended a long KTM wait by winning the Austrian MotoGP at the Red Bull Ring, delivering KTM’s first premier-class victory since October 2022. Dominant from early laps, the Spaniard took victory by 1.017 seconds over Jorge Martin, who had inherited the lead in Saturday’s sprint after Acosta crashed out. Acosta’s triumph was his first MotoGP win in 56 starts and broke an all-time record for most podiums (15) without a Grand Prix victory. Marc Marquez finished fifth, 7.339 seconds behind. Yamaha failed to score, with Jack Miller 21st. The next race is Motegi, Japan, October 2-4.
