An affordable new way to get a car without setting foot in a dealership
An affordable new way to get a car without setting foot in a dealership centers on Flexcar’s month-to-month access model as Americans reassess traditional buying and leasing in 2026. The total cost of ownership—higher vehicle prices, financing rates, maintenance, insurance, and fuel—has intensified pressure, with insurance averaging nearly $2,700 per year. Flexcar, positioned as a simpler alternative, bundles major costs into a single monthly payment, including insurance, maintenance, and roadside assistance. Members can switch vehicles, adjust mileage plans, or return cars at any time without early termination penalties. Flexcar says members have driven over 350 million miles across its markets since 2021. VP Marketing Jake Marston argues the approach reduces unpredictable expenses and multi-year loan commitments.
