Ancient Toyota RAV4 EV for Sale Still Has the Factory Battery
xCruzo Brief
A 2002 Toyota RAV4 EV—one of the rare early-modern electric vehicles—has been listed for sale on the Obscure Cars For Sale Facebook Group for $2,000, and the seller says it’s still drivable with its factory battery pack. Located in Fort Collins, Colorado, the EV is presented as a project car because of age-related concerns and cosmetic wear: the seller reports “pretty much every body panel” is dented, dinged, or scratched. Mechanically, it reportedly has no structural damage, has never been crashed, and all EV-specific components and carryover parts from the gasoline RAV4 still work. Charging uses the MagneCharger system with two units included, and the 27.4-kilowatt-hour NiMH battery is rated for 95 miles EPA range.
