Bison rams pickup truck at Yellowstone after motorist tries to avoid collision

A bison rammed a pickup truck in Yellowstone National Park early Oct. 8, after a driver tried to avoid a collision, according to reports. A seasonal mechanic traveling through the park stopped his Ford Ranger at 2:45 a.m. MT near Mud Volcano when he saw the animal standing in the middle of the road. Kyle Weber braked and waited for the bison to move, but the animal charged and struck the left side of the truck. The impact damaged the hood and dented the bumper, also breaking the side marker light. Video showed the bison initially standing silently before suddenly charging. Weber drove away after the bison moved off the roadway, then encountered more animals farther ahead.
