Blaine Perkins joins Sam Hunt Racing for the 2027 NASCAR season

Sam Hunt Racing (SHR) says Blaine Perkins will join the organization starting in 2027. The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (NOAPS) driver will take over the No. 24 GR Supra, working with crew chief Brian Gainey. SHR owner Sam Hunt called the move a chance to continue Perkins’ development, citing his experience in these cars and motivation to take the next step “both on and off the track.” Perkins, 26, is a journeyman driver who began racing at age eight in California, won track championships at Irwindale Speedway and Kern County Raceway, and earned three ARCA West victories in 2020. He has six career top-10s in the series.
