BYD, CATL, Xiaomi executives may join Xi's US visit, sources say

Washington and Beijing are reportedly finalising a business delegation to join President Xi Jinping’s upcoming visit to the United States, with invitations expected in the coming days. Three sources say the group may include executives from firms facing heightened US regulatory scrutiny as they seek more market access, and the State Department is expected to approve visas. Companies mentioned include BYD, CATL, Xiaomi, Gotion, Hisense, Wanxiang Group and Bank of China, alongside others. The preparation follows a meeting expected this weekend between US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng. One source says Xi plans to bring firms under US sanctions, blacklists or other pressure.
