Cars crash during rush-hour traffic on I-25 north of Loveland

A chain-reaction crash during Tuesday rush hour closed part of Interstate 25 north of Loveland, according to the Colorado State Patrol. Just before 8 a.m., a Toyota Tundra reportedly swerved to avoid rear-ending a car traveling southbound near Tinmath. The Tundra then entered the express lane and allegedly struck a Rivian R1T Truck, triggering a multi-vehicle collision that involved four additional cars. The Rivian spun out and hit vehicles including a Toyota 4Runner, a Nissan Rogue, a Chevrolet Colorado and a Toyota Land Cruiser. Only the Nissan Rogue driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The road reopened after more than an hour, and CSP is still investigating the cause.
