Cars that won't make it to 2027
Europe is entering 2026 with a significant production purge as several models will cease or cease updates. Alpine A110 will end European sales in 2026, with a successor described as an electric four-door crossover that preserves sports-car DNA. Audi will discontinue A1 and Q2 production in 2026 and plans a European revival under the A2 name as a compact EV. The Audi A8 will stop receiving updates in Europe, while the Q9 SUV is expected to take its place at the top of the range. BMW Z4 ends after three generations with no direct replacement, leaving the 4 Series as the last open-top in BMW showrooms. Ford Kuga will exit the European market in 2026, with U.S. production already ceased and no replacement named, though the Explorer EV may maintain a footprint. Honda Civic Type R will remain on sale outside Europe for longer, with Europe’s fate undecided.
