Chevy Silverado 3500 HD Among Cheapest Pickups To Insure

The 2026 Chevy Silverado is among the most affordable pickups to insure, according to a new Mercury Insurance report. In the company’s annual insurance-cost study, the Silverado HD ranked second overall, with Mercury specifically listing the Silverado C3500 in its ranked list. The heavy-duty Chevrolet finished just behind the Chevy Colorado LT, giving Chevrolet the top two spots. The third position was shared by the Ford Maverick and Ford Ranger. Mercury said its Research and Development team built the list by collecting and analyzing insurance costs for new trucks produced between the 2025 and 2027 model years. Mercury’s R&D director Chong Gao advised shoppers to compare insurance before signing paperwork, noting premiums can be influenced by repair costs, replacement parts, theft frequency, safety technology, and personal factors like driver age, location, driving record, and coverage limits.
