Cowboys activate veteran safety from IR ahead of matchup with Cardinals

The Dallas Cowboys activated safety P.J. Locke from injured reserve ahead of their Sunday matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Locke had been out since Week 2 with a torn plantar fascia. The team said he is set to return to the lineup after having his 21-day practice window opened last week; he was a full participant in Friday’s practice and was listed as questionable on the injury report. Dallas also called up tight end James Mitchell from the practice squad, a move that suggests Luke Schoonmaker may be unable to play. Schoonmaker missed practice on Thursday and Friday with a groin issue and was also listed as questionable. Defensive tackle Jonathan Bullard and linebacker Marist Liufau remain on injured reserve.
