Deadly motorcycle, car crash in north suburbs leaves Mundelein man killed
A deadly motorcycle-car crash in Chicago’s north suburbs killed a 43-year-old man from Mundelein on Monday night, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s office. At about 8:50 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Route 60 and Saint Marys Road in Mettawa for a collision with injuries. When officers arrived, they found the 2022 Honda motorcycle’s driver unconscious and not breathing, and he was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving attempts. A preliminary investigation said the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Route 60 through a green light at the Route 60 and Saint Marys Road intersection. The 2024 Chevrolet Trax, driven by a 55-year-old woman from Waukegan, was traveling eastbound and made a left turn onto northbound Saint Marys Road, where the motorcycle struck the passenger side.
