Drivers Plan European Trips This Summer | Fuel Cells Works
A new IONITY survey suggests EV range anxiety is easing as UK drivers plan more cross-border summer travel. The data says more than 20% of UK EV drivers will charge outside the UK between June and August, and 94% will take at least one long-distance trip during the summer. Confidence is high: 91% of respondents described themselves as “confident” or “very confident” about traveling farther, and the share citing range anxiety as a major factor has fallen to 39%, dropping to 24% among those aged over 55. IONITY links the shift to growing charging availability and to charging or mobility subscription services, used by 75% of drivers. The study also notes that France, Germany, and Belgium are the top charging destinations, and that Europe has about 1.2 million public charging points, including more than 164,000 high-power charging sites up to 600 kW.
